2010 Block of the Month Club

REGISTRATIONS FOR OUR 2010 BLOCK OF THE MONTH CLUB ARE NOW CLOSED.

Our 2010 BOM Club kicked off in January, 2010.  (If anyone did not receive their January Block, please plan to pick it up at the February meetings.  You will NOT be penalized for not completing your project.  Due to the large response, we ran short of fabric.)

We will be making 12-inch finished sampler blocks, designed by Terri Staats of Sweet Treasures.  The feature fabrics are from the Tuscan Wildflower collection by Peggy Toole for Robert Kaufman Fabrics.  Participants can select from three colorways:
Cocoa (brown and pink)
Celebration (blue and yellow)
Summer (brown and rust)
Click here for a link to the Robert Kaufman website featuring these fabrics!

Here's how it works:

To join our Block of the Month Club, pick a colorway, complete your registration form, and pay a registration fee of $ 7.50.
We will introduce each month's block with a short demonstration of block assembly, tips and techniques, show and tell from other quilters and feature new items in the shop.
Demo times will be held on Thursday at 5:30 PM, Friday at 2 PM and Saturday at 9 AM.  You can select which demo time to attend.  You can change your time from month to month, to suit your needs.  (See calendar for monthly demo dates)  You do not need to tell us which time slot you will be attending.
Attend the demo each month.  Your BOM kit will include the fabric needed to assemble your block, complete instructions and info about upcoming classes and events at Fabrics Plus.  Go home and make your block.  Bring the completed block to the following month's meeting, and get your next kit for FREE!  (For example, bring your January block to any February meeting and get that block for free!)  If you do your homework, and attend each monthly meeting, you will have 12 completed blocks for just $ 7.50.

A few conditions:

If you want to make the block in more than one colorway, please see Tracy or Cami for additional information.  A limited number of kits may be available based on registration, for a small additional charge.
To get your free kit, you must attend a demo session and bring your completed block.  There are NO exceptions!
If you can not attend, or don't complete your block, you can still purchase the kit for only $7.50 and start over again.  Bring it to the next month's class, and the next block will be free.
If you choose to drop out, please call to let us know.  We are preparing kits each month, and we need to have an accurate count.  If you will be unable to attend for an extended period, please let us now as well, and we will hold your blocks for you.
New quilters --- We want everyone to be successful!  If you need additional assistance with your block, we encourage you to register for one of our Skill Builder classes on your to master your seam allowance, rotary cutting accuracy and quilt completion.
OOPS Kit -  If you require additional fabric to complet your block due to cutting or piecing erroes, you can purchase an OOPS Kit for just $ 12.50.  You kit will include one-eighth yard of each fabric contained in the kit, a fat quarter of the background fabric, and a coupon for a FREE block (just in case you miss a session, or are unable to complete your block on time.)  This is a great wasy to insure that you don't run out of fabric during a sewing session.  Individual fabric squares qill be available for $1, as in past years.

Show and Tell
We also enourage you to share your projects with other club members, no matter what your skill level.  Bring a project to share, and be entered in our BOM Show and Tell drawing!

Finishing Kits
Several options for finishing instructions will be available to club members.  You may use our ideas, or create your own.  To insure that focal fabrics will be available, we will assess your interest in a finishing kit at registration, and place our orders accordingly.  Additional blenders will be available at any time.  (Payment will not be due until kit is picked up.)
